The principle of quality of laws is one of the requirements of the principle of legality of crime and punishment, which today, due to the technicalization of criminal laws and the possibility of incorrect and personal interpretations of laws, has become more important than the principle of legality to the extent that countries with progressive laws have incorporated this principle into their laws, and some transnational investigating authorities have considered ambiguous laws to be worthless and unenforceable. The importance of this principle is most evident in crimes against security, which has foreseen numerous behaviors as security crimes and has also designated specific authorities to handle these crime, because the lack of quality of the relevant laws, and the need for personal interpretations that do not necessarily comply with the principles and rules of interpretation, provide the basis for violations of individual rights and freedoms. On this basis. this important issue has been examined using an interpretative-analytical method and finally, it was concluded that in many crimes against security in the Iranian legal system, ambiguous and ambiguous terms have been used in the examples of crimes, which is a serious threat to violating the principle of quality of criminal laws.
